These stats were design to reward players for helping to complete missions objectives, teamwork, skill and most importantly SURVIVING!. Furthermore you will be penalized for dying and losing aircraft for your team. The scoring system is also designed to reward Bomber Pilots and Fighter Pilots as equally as possible.
Mission Objectives:
If you focus on the goal of the mission, your stats will reflect this. On attack missions, you will receive more points because you are active in destroying ground targets. If you are protecting, you will have more chances to score points because you will be in a "Target Rich Area".
Teamwork:
Player flying with teammates will have a greater chance of Surviving. This is nothing new. But with the new stats, surviving means more points. Bomber pilots have a greater chance of surviving if they have escorts. Fighter pilots will again be in a "Target Rich Area" when escorting bombers.
Skill:
The ability to land our plane without damage rewards you with higher points. If you are highly skilled in dogfighting and you get a lot of kills without dying, again, you will be rewarded. Increase this reward even more by teaming up with other players. The better you fight AND fly, the better your score.
Surviving:
This is what its all about. Get your pilot home. A dead pilot is worth nothing in winning the war. Keep your pilot alive and you will be rewarded more points. |

| T.A.R.G.E.T. [T]actical [A]ir [R]eport and [G]round [E]valuation [T]ally |
|
|
|
The T.A.R.G.E.T., [T]actical [A]ir [R]eport and [G]round [E]valuation [T]ally, stats system is designed to calculate your results gained at the War Clouds IL2 Western Front server.
Only sorties ending with your pilot alive and not captured are used for T.A.R.G.E.T calculations.
Your T.A.R.G.E.T. score is formulated from Air Victories, Air Confirmed Kills, Ground Kills, Successful Bails, Successful Landings, and Successful Crash Landings.
Bailouts-crash landings-failure to RTB-Deaths-Discos ---- all have negative consequences to your T.A.R.G.E.T. score
There are (4) top 50 pages:
T.A.R.G.E.T (top 50) ----- top 50 pilots sorted by T.A.R.G.E.T. score
T.A.R.G.E.T/Sortie (top 50) ----- top 50 pilots sorted by T.A.R.G.E.T. score divided by sorties flown
Sortie Completion % (top 50) ---- top 50 pilots sorted by percentage of sorties completed alive
Plane Top 50 Pilots ----- Drop down menu plane type lists top 50 pilots sorted by T.A.R.G.E.T/Sortie
Individual pilot stats are searchable displaying in depth statistics.
In order to clearly define the new format of the stats pages it is perhaps best to explain in some detail just how information on the server is recorded, which information is recorded and how this information will effect your stats and final T.A.R.G.E.T. scores once you take into account HOW THAT MISSION ENDS.

| [1] There are 3 basic types of Message that players will receive in-game. |
|
|
|
As follows these messages are:
(I) Server Messages:
prefix: Server:
These messages come from the scripting program that controls the server. They are generated from console messages or directly from scripted actions on the server. This is considered to be your GUNCAM in the confirmation process. Examples are:
Server: 1 eAir added to your stat
Server: RED Team annhilated all targets next map loading in 5 mins.
Server: Player has been captured by enemy army ( +1 Pilots Death )!
(II) Console Messages:
prefix: ---
These are msgs generated by Il-2 itself in response to events on the server. They have three dashes at the start. These are considered a review of the GUNCAM in the confirmation process. Examples are:
--- Joe deprives Tom of a wing
--- Bill's crate burns on the runway
(III) HUD Messages:
These messages appear in your HUD as blue writing mid-way down the right hand side of your screen. These are considered as EYE witnesses in the confirmation process. For Example:
ENEMY AIRCRAFT: DESTROYED
Or when you destroy ground targets for example
ENEMY TANK: DESTROYED
ENEMY TRUCK: DESTROYED
ENEMY AAA: DESTROYED
It is these three types of messages that are used to get the relevant data that is added to the stats database. Players can think of each of these messages as a level of confirmation. As will be explained below in order to have a "confirmed kill"(air or ground) or "victory" added to your stats total, you need to satisfy a certain level of confirmation. It is by this means that some form of partial credit can be given for damaging an enemy plane and forcing him to RTB. |
|
|
|
| [2] The Stats are recording several different things and making entries accordingly. |
|
|
|
The DataBase (DB) records the following entries and they are defined as such:
(I) Sorties
As soon as your plane goes wheels up your Sortie count is increased by one (+1) regardless of what happens there after on that mission.
(II) Gunstats
Quite simply your total rounds that hit (combined ground and air) and total rounds fired.
(III) Confirmed Ground Kills
Ground targets that were destroyed by the player. Confirmation Level 2 : Server msg and Hud msg. Examples:
Server: 1 eTank added to your stat
ENEMY TANK: DESTROYED
(IV) Confirmed Air Kills
These are were the enemy is definately destroyed/shot down. Confirmation Level 3 : Server msg, Console msg, and HUD msg. Examples
Server: 1 eAir added to your stat
--- Player1 downs Player2
ENEMY AIRCRAFT: DESTROYED
(V) Air Victory
These are when you have damaged your enemy and he disengages to RTB. If the pilot RTBs after your engagement and lands, then you are awarded and Air Victory. Confirmatoin Level 1 : HUD msg Examples:
ENEMY AIRCRAFT: DESTROYED
(VI) Sortie Summaries (Sortie Completion Status)
This summarizes how the sorties were finished. How the sortie was finished will have the greatest effect how the T.A.R.G.E.T. score is calculated and what relevant penalties are imposed. The different entries of DEATHS, BAILOUTS, CRASHES, LANDINGS, CAPTURES OR MIA will be explained in greater detail below.
(VII) Plane losses
Whenever planes are destroyed, damaged beyond repair or otherwise lost a record is made and this will effect the final T.A.R.G.E.T. score that is awarded as well as reducing the plane count in game.
(VIII) T.A.R.G.E.T. Score
Designed to be a true measure of a pilots combat effectiveness. This score takes into account how well a pilot performs on the server regardless of his flying style or wether he does ground attack or dog-fighting or both. Without going into too much detail, survival and bringing home the plane at the end of a successful sortie will result in the most increase in an individuals T.A.R.G.E.T. Score. |
|
|
|
| [3] Individual Sortie Results. |
|
|
|
These are shown in order with the greatest pentalty assessment being first.
Example Situations:
1) Death:
It doesnt matter how it happened. If you are killed a death will be recorded against you and you will receive no T.A.R.G.E.T. score for that sortie.
Furthermore
- Your "gunstats" for that sortie will be recorded.
- Your "Target" score will have nothing added to it
- All your Confirmed Air Kills, Confirmed Ground Kills and Victories (which are not displayed but used in determining final T.A.R.G.E.T. score) will be lost and NOT recorded
- A death will be counted against you in the "Sortie Summary" (+1 Death)
- You will be counted as having flown a sortie (+1 Sortie)
- You will be assesed as having lost a plane (+1 Planes Lost)
2) Capture:
If you bail out over enemy territory* or crash/land the plane behind enemy lines (whether you then exit the plane or not) and are captured then that will be considered jst like a death.
- Your "Target" score will have nothing added to it
- Your "gunstats" for that sortie will be recorded.
- All your Confirmed Air Kills, Confirmed Ground Kills and Victories (which are not displayed but used in determining final T.A.R.G.E.T. score) will be lost and NOT recorded
- A "Captured" will be counted against you in the "Sortie Summary" (+1 Capture)
- You will be counted as having flown a sortie (+1 Sortie)
- You will be assesed as having lost a plane (+1 Planes Lost)
Please note that playes can still escape, and in which case they will receive their T.A.R.G.E.T.s points however a penalty is incurred for losing the plane etc. This is further explained below. All players who bailed out or land over enemy territory will see a console msg that says" --- Tom was captured by the opposing force " however this doesnt mean that Tom cant escape, if there is a following message from the 'server' that says " SERVER: TOM was captured, +1 Pilot Dead for TOM(captured) " this means he was in fact captured and did not escape. This is a point that many players are confused about.
3) MIA:
If you disconnect from the server mid-sortie for whatever reason you will be considered MIA. This is will be counted just like dying or being captured.
- A "MIA" will be counted against you in the "Sortie Summary" (+1 MIA)
- You will be counted as having flown a sortie (+1 Sortie)
- You will be assesed as having lost a plane (+1 Planes Lost)
In this situation an MIA is counted as though that plane and pilot never returned and were therefore lost.
(4) Crash Landed - Friendly Territory, Pilot stays in plane at 'Refly'
In this case a pilot has landed at a base and damaged the plane in the process, or damaged it on a road/field/wherever. But if the pilot doesnt leave the aircraft and then hits refly (console msg " --- Larry fails on landing approach " ) the folowing will apply to his stats
- Your "gunstats" for that sortie will be recorded.
- All your Confirmed Air Kills, Confirmed Ground Kills and victories (which are not displayed but used in determining final T.A.R.G.E.T. score) will be recorded
- A "crashed" will be counted against your stats in the "Sortie Summary" (+1 crashed)
- You will be counted as having flown a sortie (+1 Sortie)
- You will be assesed as having lost a plane (+1 Planes Lost)
- YOUR T.A.R.G.E.T. SCORE WILL BE AWARDED, LESS A PENALTY FOR HAVING LOST/DAMAGED THE PLANE HOWEVER THIS PENALTY WILL BE GREATER THAN IF YOU HAD WALKED AWAY (EJECTED ON GROUND) FROM THE PLANE.
(5) Crash Landed - Friendly territory, Pilot Exits Plane
This is where a pilot lands a plane and damages it in the process of landing. For example, breaking the gear, snapping a wing or damaging the prop. But then the pilot ejects from the plane and safely runs away. He must be inside of friendly territory, either at a freindly base, a nuetral base even a road or a field will do. Often the 'console' message will read something like: " --- Joe runs away from his burning plane "
If that criteria is met, than the following will apply:
- Your "gunstats" for that sortie will be recorded.
- All your Confirmed Air Kills, Confirmed Ground Kills and victories (which are not displayed but used in determining final T.A.R.G.E.T. score) will be recorded
- A "bail-out" will be counted against your stats in the "Sortie Summary" (+1 bailout)
- You will be counted as having flown a sortie (+1 Sortie)
- You will be assesed as having lost a plane (+1 Planes Lost)
- YOUR T.A.R.G.E.T. SCORE WILL BE AWARDED, LESS A PENALTY FOR HAVING LOST/DAMAGED THE PLANE
(6) Bail-Out
This is a succesful bail-out only. If you jump to close to the ground or bail-out over a forest your pilot will be killed regardless of wether u hit refly or not and this will count as a death (see above description). A bail-out is only succesful where the pilot SURIVIVES.
In that case the following will apply:
- Your "gunstats" for that sortie will be recorded.
- All your Confirmed Air Kills, Confirmed Ground Kills and victories (which are not displayed but used in determining final T.A.R.G.E.T. score) will be recorded
- A "bailout" will be counted against your stats in the "Sortie Summary" (+1 bailout)
- You will be counted as having flown a sortie (+1 Sortie)
- You will be assesed as having lost a plane (+1 Planes Lost)
- YOUR T.A.R.G.E.T. SCORE WILL BE AWARDED, LESS A PENALTY FOR HAVING LOST THE PLANE
(7) Landing
This is what happens if you land the plane normally at any point on your side of the lines. It doesnt matter if the plane was damaged in the air, so long as it is not additionally damaged upon landing. In this case the pilot would normally just hit refly after coming to a complete stop. In this case:
- Your "gunstats" for that sortie will be recorded.
- All your Confirmed Air Kills, Confirmed Ground Kills and victories (which are not displayed but used in determining final T.A.R.G.E.T. score) will be recorded
- A "Landed" will be counted against your stats in the "Sortie Summary" (+1 Landings)
- You will be counted as having flown a sortie (+1 Sortie)
- ASSUMING THAT YOU LANDED INSIDE THE 'CIRLCE' OF AN AIRBASE (FRIENDLY OR NUETRAL) YOU WILL BE AWARDED YOUR FULL T.A.R.G.E.T. SCORE FOR THAT SORTIE. IF YOU LAND OUTSIDE THE 'CIRCLE' OF THE AIRBASE - SAY ON A ROAD OR IN A FEILD - YOU WILL BE AWARDED T.A.R.G.E.T. POINTS AT A REDUCED RATE.
