HELP !! LoL
Okay, so it has been a while since I have been online flying IL2. Last night I uninstalled my 4.08m version and reloaded the 1947 4.07m fresh on my C Drive.
I then copied (2) copies to my D drive. I downloaded 4.08m patch and 4.09m patch. Patched them into a path leading to (1) of my D drive copies. Did my mapping, controls, etc. I THINK all was going fine as I tinkered through the process of mapping and testing. Then I noticed (3) things.
I could not get manaul prop pitch to work on a P47. Tried with default setting and even on the fresh 4.07m load
I had no manual radiator control. Only closed or auto
I noticed that the desktop icon that is created for launching game ( 4.07m) just has the white box with blue and name vs. the atual IL2 picture logo on the shortcut.
I have no idea what is going on but it is irritating and I would really appreciate some help so I can get back on Warclouds. I did another remove programs on C drive and deleted my (2) copies on D drive. Rebooted PC and reinstalled 1946 4.07m. Same things happen. I stopped at that. Too much work mapping, etc just to have it all not work right in the end.
Thanks for any help or answers anyone can provide. Also, thanks to all you guys that tried to help me over the TS WC comms. Salute! Hope to see you soon.

| Generally you see this behaviour with "advanced engine management" turned off in the realism/difficulty options. It cannot really be anything else, as you did manage to cycle through radiator settings, meaning the control input is getting there. Exact same symptoms happened to me before making me think something was wrong with the controller binds. |

Hi,
to avoid remaping maually all your ctrl, you can make a safe copy of the file <settings.ini> in your game folder ...\users\X
where "X" is the name of registered user

You were correct !! I cannot believe through all the installing and uninstalling and multiple conversations with guys in the WC's TS that nobody asked me to check that...LMAO. I guess I am the biggest idiot of all. I do remember that someone said that it is something simple and obvious but we always look for something deeper and more sinister. The bad thing is I uninstalled my Saitek Software and now have to get all back up and running. Too funny..I would have been through yesterday mid-day without as much anger and frustration if I would have thought about that !!
Thanks again to ALL ! Salute !! |

6ftunder - are you really talking about the settings.ini backup file, or the engine management? I ask this because your post replies do not match up (to me at least) the quoted text |
